GLASS FACTORIES CLOSE.

A Large Number of Employes Take a

Vacation.

To-day is June 30, the day set for the closing of the glass factories, but business has been so good that several of the departments will run for some weeks longer and some factories all summer without any shut down.

To-day the blowers at Ball Brothers' ended their season. About 300 men stopped work, leaving only about 300 men on duty. These are pressers and the workmen in the stamping department, who will work through July.

The 375 men and boys at the Muncie Glass Company will quit work for the season Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock.

The fruit jar department at Hemingray's closed Saturday and about half of the 300 men at this plant went off of duty. The other departments will probably be run through the entire summer, which is something unusual, the cause being that business is so good.
