PEOPLE IN MUNCIE WHO PAY BIG TAXES List of Those Whose Valuations Are $5,000 or More. NOTEWORTHY FEATURE OF THE TAX DUPLICATE Each year the tax duplicate of Muncie increases in volume as the city grows and its business expands, hence the list of taxpayers received many additions annually. Perhaps the most noteworthy feature found in a perusal of the tax duplicate is the large number of business concerns and property owners who in 1900 have been paying taxes on valuations of $5,000 or more. Not many cities the size of Muncie can point to so many. It has been a matter of general knowledge that Muncie has no immensely wealthy persons or corporations. There are many, however, whose possessions run into figures that would be entirely satisfactory to those who have aspirations to be rich.
