New Equipment To Be Placed In Local Plant
The Owens-Illinois plant here is now part of a multi-million dollar expansion program, according to information released by the firm's home office in Toledo, Ohio. When the expansion plan here is completed by mid-summer, the Muncie plant will devote its operations to manufacturing television bulbs. New furnaces will be installed in the Muncie Owens-Illinois plant. Manager E. L. Ross said the Muncie plant's work force will remain at the present level of about 600. Owens-Illinois also plans a new glass melting furnace operation at the Columbus, Ohio, plant. |
