THREE STRIKERS

WERE ARRESTED

Boys Charged With Assault

and Battery.

Hemingray's Plant Idle and

375 Men are Out

The strike of the boys at the Hemingray glass factory is no nearer a settlement than on the first day. None of the boys was a work Thursday. The demonstration of the workers Wednesday seems to have intimidated those who were in a notion to return. The juvenile strikers remained about the plant and any person thought to have a notion of going to work was asked to remain away.

The assault on Willie Hickenbottom, Wednesday, was investigated by the constables and as a consequence Harry O'Neal, Edward Knecht and Charles Knecht were arrested and arraigned in the court of Justice Moreland on charges of assault and battery. Charles Knecht entered a plea of guilty but his fine was not attached, O'Neal will enter a plea of guilty, but Edward Knecht says he is not guilty and will demand a trial. From present indications, the strike will drag along indefinitely. Neither side seems inclined to give a point and the 375 employes are idle. It means a loss of several thousand dollars in wages to the workingmen and a big loss to the company.
