The thirteenth annual session of the Druggist-Ware Glass Blowers, of District Assembly, No. 143, K. of L., convened in Bartlett Hall, on the above date at 9 a. m., with District Master-Workman Louis Arrington in the chair.
Brother A. E. Count was appointed temporary clerk.
At the call of the District Master Workman the following brothers responded to the call and presented their credentials as delegates to the session.

The District Master Workman appointed the following Brothers as a Committee on Credentials, also to examine the reports of each Local Assembly.
Committee — Brothers Robert Brown, Louis Sahner, Wm. Lawliss, Peter Green, Peter Ewald.
The D. M. W. suggested that we take a recess to give the Committee on Credentials, time to attend to their work, so as to report at the afternoon session.
Brother Peter Havey moved that when we take a recess, we take the same to meet at 2 o'clock p. m.
So ordered.
Bro. Sahner. suggested the roll of delegates be called. On the call of the roll all delegates responded. The D. M. W. then declared a recess until 2 o'clock p. m.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
Session called to order, the District Master Workman in the Chair.
The Committee on Credentials reported they had attended to their duty, and submitted the following report:
By motion the report was received and all Delegates were declared entitled to seats in the session, and the committee discharged.
The D. M. W. then appointed Bro. George Kambach Venerable Sage; Bro. J. M. Miller, Worthy Inspector; Bro. C. Robinson, Inside Esquire.
Minutes of the morning session read and approved.
Nomination for Secretary of the session being in order, Bro. A. E. Count was nominated, and elected.
Roll of Officers and Delegates called and all present.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS OF THE DISTRICT.
The following is the District Master Workman's General Report:
D. M. W.'s General Report.
Fellow Workmen and Worthy Delegates:
I heartily congratulate you that the anticipations we indulged in last summer of a prosperous season for our trade, have been more than realized now that the season is ended, and as we are met in session again to review the past, and deliberate on the future needs of our trade, I sincerely hope, that all our words and actions will be such as will lead to a continuance of that prosperity, as far as we are able to assist it, adjusting all differences between ourselves and our employes amicably if possible, and maintaining that harmony among ourselves that is so necessary to our welfare and the future advancement of our organization.
I will now proceed to an account of the various transactions of importance that have occurred since we last met, inviting all fair an [sic] and honest criticism of my official actions, but at the same time confidently hoping that they have been such as will meet with the hearty approval of the Assembly.

On the 20th of March I received a telegram to come to Muncie, Ind. It appears the Hemingray firm there had about decided to transfer their factory to the Flint Blowers union. They had closed their Flint works at Covington, Ky., with a very large stock of flint ware, and it was thought necessary to run Muncie as a flint factory to make odds and ends to enable them to work off their stock. I soon found out that the firm were not unanimous in their desire to change to flint, and I also learned that some of our men had been behaving very badly, which had a good deal to do with the proposed change. I said and done all I could to retain the factory for our trade, and I think with success, for a few days afterwards the committee were informed that the proposed change would not take place the present season.
You can easily see how much trouble is brought into our organization by the misconduct of some of our members, and from the position I hold I am continually reminded of it. I admit there has been a great improvement of late, but still I consider it my duty to impress upon this convention and the members generally of still further improvement in this respect, not only for the benefit of the individual but for the vital interests of the order at large.

District Master Workman's Statistical
Report.
Irondale, Alabama, had one tank furnace in operation from September until April.
Golden, Colo., started on November 1, and shut down on account of strike November 17.
Salt Lake City started in January and went out about May 1, on account of men not attending to work, by reason of too much whiskey.

The session called to order by the District Master Workman.
Roll called and all present at the opening except Brother T. Havey.
Minutes of the morning. session read and adopted.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS.
Under this head the general report of the District blaster Workman was taken up.
On a point of order made by Patrick Havey the D. M. W. decided the District Cashier had no authority to receive and hold the assessment money of this District, under the present law.
Brother Patrick Havey moved that so much of the report that refers to the criticism of the Trustees calling for the assessment money remaining in the hands of the District Master Workman, be stricken out of the report.
Brother D. Hayes moved to amend the resolution: That the assessment money remaining in the hands of Brother Arrington be turned over to the District Treasurer.
The same was seconded and carried.
The time having arrived to meet District 149 in joint session, the District Master Workman declared a recess for that purpose.

THURSDAY, July 18,1889.
Session opened in regular form at 9 a. m. with the District Master Workman in the chair.

Communication read from the Hemmingray [sic] Hemingray Glass Co., asking to use a finishing machine during the coming season.
The District Master Workman stated his reply to the same, to the effect that he decided they could not use the machine, and, by a motion, the District Master Workman was sustained in his decision.
