FACTORIES IN CINCINNATI They Will be Established by Two Muncie Manufacturers. The Story that the Muncie and Hemingray Glass Factories Will Leave Muncie is Denied. A dispatch from Cincinnati says that the Hemingray and Muncie Glass companies are preparing to move from Muncie to that city. This is an old rumor in a new form. The Hemingray company has an already equipped plant in Covington which the company has considered starting owing to the condition of the trade. The Muncie Glass company has been looking for a site in Cincinnati and will probably erect a pant in that city this coming summer. Neither company at present has any thought of abandoning its Muncie plant. With plants in Cincinnati both companies would be prepared for an emergency should gas give out as it did in the Findlay field and it would be impossible to get coal here at reasonable rates. It is the understanding among glass men that both companies intend to combine their Muncie plants after gas is gone provided coal can be had. Both companies have made extensive investments in the gas field the past year and it is hardly probable that either would abandon its Muncie plant for another as long as gas lasts. |
