A GOOD BEGINNING.

Some Generous Gifts Made to the

Associated Charities.

The Association's Appeal For Aid is Meeting

With a Response That is Encouraging and

Promising.

The Associated Charities, organized to help the poor of Muncie help themselves, is encouraged by the response to the appeal for assistance. A good beginning has been made and the association hopes that the same generosity may be manifested in the future contributions to the cause. The following contribution from a prominent worker is self explanatory:

"Thus far our appeals for the needy in our city have met with very liberal responses. Below we give the amounts received to date and names of donors:

Union Thanksgiving Offering . . . . . $23.70

Collection Baptist Church . . . . . . . . . . 5.26

High Street M. E. church . . . . . . . . . . 25.89

Hemingray Glass Co. . . . . . . . . . . . . .10.00

A. L. Johnson . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .100.00

For all those generous donations the society is very thankful and we hope the above examples will encourage others to a like liberality. Send money to Mrs. A. Martin, Treasurer, 419 south Franklin street.
