HIT WITH A BRICK.

Jacob Gillenwater was Slugged Yesterday

Over a Chicken Fight.

Jacob Gillenwater, colored, is the watchman at the Hemingray glass works. Yesterday while attending to his duties he discovered Dennis Collins and some other glass workers having great sport with some of Robert Hemingray's game chickens near the factory in a fight. It was Jacob's duty to stop the fight which he did. This angered Collins who laid for the colored man and hit him with a brick. Gillenwater is a powerful man and the blow did not affect much. It simply "riled" Jacob and he went after Collins, badly using him up. This morning Collins was fined $14.60 in all.
