A movement has been inaugurated at Glassboro, N.J., looking to the starting up of the old Temperanceville glass plant. These works, it will be remembered, were purchased some time ago by Mr. Brookfield, of Brooklyn, and it was understood at the time that the plant was soon to be put in operation and employment given to quite a large number of hands. This plan was not carried out, and a number of glassworkers are now forming a company to operate the works. The capital desired is $5,000, and of this amount the glass blowers will subscribe $2,500, and endeavor to secure the other $2,500 from the businessmen of Glassboro. If the entire amount of stock desired is secured, the factory will be put in thorough repair and an 8-pot furnace put in blast.
