A BEAUTIFUL WEDDING.

MISS LOIS LOVE AND MR. WILLIAM

HERED MACDOWELL

United in Marriage at the Home of

the Bride on West Howard Street

At 6 o'clock last Evening.

One of the most unique and beautiful weddings ever celebrated in Muncie occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James M. Love on west Howard street at 6 o'clock yesterday evening. The occasion was the marriage of their youngest daughter, Lois Syfers Love, to Mr. William Hered MacDowell of Portsmouth, Ohio. It was a Christmas-tide rainbow wedding, and in the house decorations, which were beautiful and artistic, the colors of the rainbow were displayed.

At the appointed hour the wedding party entered the parlors to the strains of Lohengren's wedding march rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boldt on the flute and piano. The ushers were Messrs. John H. Love, brother to the bride, Harry Streeter, Homer Bowles, and Mr. Ned Krelder of Jacksonville, Ill. Mr. Lew Pavey of Rockford, Ill., was the best man to the groom.

The bridesmaids were the Misses Lillie Grove and Marie Hegler of Washington, C. H., O.; Miss Mary MacDowell of Portsmouth, O., sister of the groom; Miss Phoebe Krieder of Jacksonville, Ill.; and Miss Louise Kirby. Miss Edna Streeter was maid of honor. Little Enlalla Wills and Master Ed Marsh acted as attendants to the wedding party, the latter carrying the wedding ring in a handsome jewel casket. The bridal party entered the parlors through the hallway, the space leading to the altar being marked by lines of white ribbon. One of the most novel and beautiful features of the wedding was the bridal march from Lohengren, which was sung by the bridesmaids as they entered the rooms. The words are as follows:

Faithful and true we lead you forth

Where love triumphant shall crown ye with joy.

Star of renown, flower of the earth,

Blest be ye both far from all life's annoy.

Champion, victorious, go then before,

Maid, eright and glorious, go thou before.

Mirth's noisy revel ye have forsaken,

Tender delights for you now awaken,

Fragrant abode enshrine ye in bliss

Splendor and state in joy ye di-miss,

Faithful and true we lead ye forth

Where love triumphant shall crown ye

with joy.

Star of renown, flower of the earth,

Blest be ye both far from all life's annoy.

As solemn vows unite ye, we hallow ye to

joy.

This hour shall still requite ye, when bliss

hath known alloy.

The beautiful ring service of he Episcopal church was used, the Rev. F. O. Grannias performing the interacting ceremony in a most impressive manner.

The ceremony occurred in the north parlor, the bridal couple kneeling beneath a floral emblem in the form of an umbrella of smilax and roses. Miss Kreider, of Jacksonville, an accomplished vocalist, who received her musical education in Dresden, sang during the ceremony — "Thine Eyes so Blue and Tender."

The bride wore an exquisite gown of rich white satin, en traine, and carried bride's roses. Miss Streeter, the maid of honor, wore an accordion-plaited gown of white silk mull. The bridesmaids' gowns represented the colors of the rainbow and were in harmony with the decorations. Miss Grove wore a gown of light blue silk; Miss Hegler, corn colored crystal silk; Miss Kirby, light green satin; Miss Kreider, orange satin, black trimmings; Miss MacDowell light pink lansdown.

A splendid supper, prepared by Miss Iona Bryant, an accomplished caterer of Washington C. H., Ohio, was served.

Mr. and Mrs. MacDowell left for the west on the 9:25 train, receiving a shower of rice a farewell greeting. They will be at home to their friends in Portsmouth, O., after January 10.

Among the guest present at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hemingray and family, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. O. Cromwell, Mr. and Mrs. Thad S. Neely, Mr. and Mrs. Will Marsh and son Ed, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mutchner of Indianapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Gwynn Marvin, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boldt, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Marsh, Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Gilbert, Rev.
