Mrs. Llewellyn S. Matthews, 91, widow of Maj. Thomas A. Matthews, died early Wednesday morning at her home, 519 Greenup street, Covington, after an illness of nine days. She is survived by two daughters, Miss Lida P. Matthews, 519 Greenup street, Covington, and Mrs. David Meade Massie, Chillicothe, O., and one son, Lewis P. Matthews, Springfield, O. Three grand-daughters also survive. Funeral services will be held at the residence Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Burial will be private in Highlands Cemetery.

Mrs. L. S. Matthews was the sister of Mrs. Virginia Porter, 83, who was found dead in the bathroom of her home in the South Marcella apartments, Sixth and Greenup streets, Covington, Tuesday morning. Coroner David W. Stephens rendered a verdict of death due to heart disease, caused by a fall in the bathtub when her head hit the faucet. The funeral of Mrs. Porter was held Wednesday afternoon from the Matthews residence.

Mrs. Matthews was unconscious Tuesday and did not know of her sister's death.
