SEASON'S END IS HERE.

Iron and Steel and Glass Factories Closing

For The Season.

The end of '97 - '98 in glass and iron and steel circles is practically over. Ball Brothers will close at three a.m. to-morrow and Ports at midnight to-night. The Hemingray glass company will probably run full force all summer. The window glass factories are practically shut down now but will be certainly idle at midnight. At the Muncie flint glass works the employees are to have six weeks' vacation between June 15 and September 15 and the plant will be kept running. Twenty blowers are now off. The Midland steel works will close at midnight to-night and will be idle for three weeks during which repairs will be made. The Indiana iron works will close Saturday night for the same period and purpose. The Muncie iron and steel works is already closed and will resume in about two weeks.
