MR. WM. BROOKFIELD, of the Bushwick Glass Works, Grand street, Brooklyn, N.Y., has just completed and put in operation his new tank furnace. It is constructed on a new principle, though virtually an adaptation and improvement of the Siemens furnace. Good results are expected from this furnace, among which are a considerable saving in the expense of fuel and freedom of inconvenience and loss resulting from broken pots. The glass produced is of excellent quality, much tougher and more brilliant then formerly, while the supply to blowers is continuous. The furnace is from the design of M. Ferrari, a German inventor.
