The Union Porcelain Works, Eckford street near Greenpoint avenue, illustrate in their manufacture of hard porcelain the high standard to which American skill and enterprise have brought the home product. No china ware of French of other make surpasses this in any particular and it is superior to the others in its adaptability to the home market, as has been proved by its long and successful use by the largest consumers in the land. This firm do not need to put forward their claims to merit in any half-hearted or apologetic manner; their assertions are supported by the facts and they do not hesitate to offer their ware in competition with the best imported, under any tests that may be instituted. They make a specialty of thick and half thick porcelain for hotels, steamships, cafes, etc., and the success that has attended it use in such places is not a matter of question. From its hardness and durability, it comes cheaper in the long run for use in public places than common crockery ware, while its fine appearance at all times gives it a commanding advantage. They also make thinner grades for family use, but all are exactly of the same quality as they make only one kind of ware - hard porcelain or china. They are prepared to do all kinds of decorating to order, for either hotels or private use and have the best of facilities for this purpose. They will be glad to furnish price lists of their various lines of manufacture to those applying for them, which specify in detail the various goods they make and dealers should see and study these before placing their orders elsewhere. |
