The Union Porcelain Works, at Greenpoint, manufacture a large number of specialties in hard porcelain or china ware, besides their line of tableware. The latter comprises the usual articles for table purposes, and they are equal in all respects to the best French china. They make thick and half thick and decorated ware is a specialty with them. They give particular attention to decorating to order and to hotel, cafe and steamboat goods as well. Among other specialties are porcelain sign and number plates, drawer pulls and knobs, lettered, numbered and decorated in colors and gold, hard porcelain insulators, and porcelain hardware trimmings and sundries. Their insulators will not burn out, as they are burned at a temperature of 4,000 Fahr., the glaze is a non-conductor, they will not absorb moisture, they will not craze or crumble on the surface, the body and glaze being of the same material they are as good without glaze as with it, they are the strongest made, and the cheapest. Only one quality of ware is made here for all specialties and that is the best - true hard porcelain. The facilities at these works are very extensive and complete and the shipping accommodations of the best. The firm will send illustrated price lists of all their goods upon application.
