The Bushwick Glass Works have started another furnace and are to run 4 shops. They will begin to blow this week. Most of the men who are to work on this tank are from Poughkeepsie.

Among the recent arrivals here are Homer Belanger, Oscar King, George Foster, James "Daffy" Smith, Stroud King, James Murphy, Ed Kelly, Hugh Martin, John Norris, "Monk" Cavanaugh, William Cook, Charles Stone, John Dow Sr., George LaDue, Phillip Myers, John Demiling, Tony Opperman, and Jacob Demiling. All are from Poughkeepsie.

Tony Opperman came down in his rowboat from Poughkeepsie. He reports a pleasant voyage but no fish.

Davy John McClaskey and a shop from Millville are here and are to go to work on the tank that has just been started at Bushwick. Bro. Thos Fenney was off a few days last week with sore hands.

The boys are talking about making a trip to the fishing banks when the fire goes out. Bro. Charles Stone has gained about 15 pounds since coming to work here. The salt air seems to agree with him.

Bro. Louis Fuchstack has a brand new baby boy at his home. Louis goes around with a big smile on his face. Bro. Gottlieb Flohr goes to Pittsburg this week. - BROOKLYN
