Heavy Insulator and Pin for Railway Work.

Two new specimens of that excellent line material which has made well known to electrical men the name of Fred Locke of Victor, N. Y., are here with illustrated.

Figs. 1 and 2. HEAVY INSULATOR AND PIN FOR RAILWAY WORK.
Figs. 1 and 2. Heavy Insulator and Pin for Railway Work.

Fig. 1 shows (full size) a porcelain insulator designed for heavy line work. It is made from the highest grade of hard porcelain and is very strong and durable. The three petticoats on this insulator present a like insulating surface to that which has proven so efficient in Mr. Locke's large triple petticoat porcelain insulators for high voltage power transmission, which are in use all over the world. In Fig. 2 is represented (two-thirds size) the new heavy steel pin for street railway line work. This pin has been designed for heavy work in combination with the insulator shown. It is said to be much stronger than any pin ever put on the market for this work, and will undoubtedly give satisfaction. There is need for such an article, and its availability will be much appreciated by railway men.
