Chief Allen's report showed that there have been twenty-two fires during the month, with an estimated loss of about $48,930. This includes the fire at the Imperial Porcelain Works, which destroyed the plant; the broom factory on Canal Street, and the bow factory, as well as a number of smaller fires.
