Flint Glass Scales Fixed.

A joint conference between the committee of the American Flint Glass Workers' Union and the American Flint and Lime Glass Manufacturers' Association was held at the office of the Geo. A. Macbeth Company, this city, on Wednesday last and a settlement of wages for the fire of 1898-1899 in the chimney branch was effected. The settlement is on the basis of last year's fire. Manufacturers who desire to do so will be granted the privilege of putting in chimney making machines, a clause to this effect being part of the agreement between manufacturers and workers.

On the same day a settlement of the scale in the shade department was arranged in Philadelphia in all the details on the basis of the scale of last year's fire.

The only important matter that the union has yet to settle in the way of wages is the flint prescription scale.
