FIRE IN GLASS WORKS.

Through the collapse of a flue in one of the chimneys in the Bushwick Glass Works, at Grand street and Morgan avenue, in the Eastern District, last evening, some of the molten glass confined in the crucibles was scattered about, setting fire to the place. The crucibles, a dozen in number, were situated in a small wooden building, which was soon in a blaze. The crucibles, it was said, contained about seven tons of molten glass. When the firemen reached the scene they were warned of this, and also of the danger of explosion should water find its way into either of the crucibles. The firemen, by careful work, managed to put out the fire after an hour of hard work. The damage done in the building will amount to about $1,000.
