The Trinity Church Social.
The Trinity Church Social met last evening at the residence of Mrs. Nixon, 335 Garrard street. A large number of the church people were present and a most enjoyable evening was spent. The guests were received by Mrs. Nixon and her sister, Miss Delia Clemons, assisted by the Misses. Nixon. Among those present were Rev. S. W. Young and Mrs. Young and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Benton, Capt. and Mrs. R. W. Dugan, Mr. and Mrs. Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Comingore, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Queen, Capt. and Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Capt. Swigert, of Montana; Mrs. M. Dashiell Stephenson, Mrs. Dr. Hunt, Mrs. William Sparrow, Mrs. Iredell, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Gifford, Mrs. Ironsides, Mrs. Manson, Mrs. Wm. Nowland, Mrs. Woodall, Mrs. Sue Timberlake, Mrs. L. Joyce, Misses, Sarah Bailey, Sophie Levis, Lulie and Anna Clark, Clara Swigert, Anna Laughlin, Julia Botsford, of Louisville, Nellie Ironsides, Eugenia Benton, Tixie Rust, Belle and Dollie Brace, Dora, Edith, Emma, and Molly Nixon, Lina Johnson, and Hon. M. M. Benton, and Messrs. C. M. Hatch, Will Miller, C. Aude, Charles Ironsides, and others. The evening was spent in conversation, and choice selections of music were rendered by Misses. Julia Botsford and Nellie Ironsides. Delightful refreshments were served by the caterer, Lehman, and all that was needed to make the occasion a perfect success was the presence of a few more of the sterner sex. The next meeting will be held at the residence of Mrs. Iredell, on Garrard street. |

Researcher notes: | Mrs. Susan Timberlake was the mother of Nancy (Nannie) Timberlake, wife of Robert Carroll Hemingray. M. M. Benton served as attorney for Ralph Gray and Robert Hemingray when they first arrived in Covington, Kentucky. He was also the first Mayor to the Town of Covington. |
