CONVENTION NEWS AND COMMENT.

Mr. J. G. White received many congratulations on his interesting paper describing the construction of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls transmission line. The success of the installation was amply demonstrated by Mr. White's statement that the commercial efficiency of the line is 79.6 per cent. The advocates of high-tension transmission were greatly interested in Mr. White's description of the severe tests which were required of the porcelain insulators before they were accepted. It is probable that these were the most severe and thorough insulator tests ever made.
