MUNCIE, Ind., June 30. - Several days ago 26 boys at Hemingray's glass works struck for an increase of wages from 60 cents to 75 cents per day. Their demand was refused, but they caused the fruit jar department of the works to be shut down for the season, a month earlier than the company intended. The fruit jar business this season is very profitable and the company will lose heavily on account of the strike. |
