Glass Works Destroyed.

The Valverde glass works, South Eighth and Maple streets, were destroyed by fire at an early hour this morning. The building in which the works were located was built of stone and was only one story high. One of the furnaces burst and sent the hot coals all over the inside of the building igniting the woodwork. An alarm was sent in for the Denver fire department but before any of the companies arrived the whole thing was a mass of ruins. The building was owned by P. C. Thompson and the glass works were under the supervision of Robert Good. The loss is estimated at $5,000. This fire will throw about thirty people out of employment.
