WRATH OF A BROTHER

Knew No Bounds When Hemingray -

Cusick Wedding was Announced.

ELOPEMENT SUCCESSFUL

Love had its way in the case of David Cusick and Miss Sue Hemingray, who created a sensation in this city Friday and now are joined in wedlock. After being refused a license twice in this city, Mr. Cusick departed for Indianapolis Friday afternoon and there met Miss Hemingray. They procured a marriage license in Indianapolis and their marriage was solemnized in the evening at 8 o'clock at the Imperial hotel. The Rev. Joshua Stanefield of the Meridian Street M. E. church officiated. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hart and William Foor were present at the ceremony, after which the newly wedded couple went to the English Opera house where they witnessed the production of "The Maid and the Mummy." They will reside in Kokomo until the end of the present polo season and will then probably go to the east to reside. The announcement of the pranks of the lovers came as a great surprise. Mrs. Hemingray, mother of the girl, left yesterday for St. Louis after a most pathetic scene. She was accompanied by Miss Kate McDowell of this city. Mrs. Hemingray is heartbroken over the affair.

Today a report from St. Louis says "There was an interesting conference here between the heartbroken mother and her son Robert, who has a string of fast horses. The brother of the girl who eloped expressed anger that knew no bounds upon having the story unfolded to him. He endeavored to console his mother and objected to the manner in which his newly made brother-in-law acted in the affair. Mrs. Hemingray will proceed south for the remainder of the winter."
