Brookfield Will Not Talk.

William Brookfield, head of the Brookfield Republicans, in whose district the speech last night was made by Jerome, said:

"I don't want to talk about it, I don't want to think about it. I am an outcast anyhow, and not regular, and it doesn't make any difference what I think."

Assemblyman John A. Weekes of the Twenty-fifth assembly district said:

"The only effect that I think it will have will be the lessening of interest among the party workers. Justice Jerome's remarks were not calculated to stir up enthusiasm. Jerome should have conferred with some one before he made is speech. I hardly think it will affect the general ticket, though it might fatally affect Justice Jerome's chances."

Silas B. Dutcher said: "It is certainly deplorable, but it will not have any affect upon Brooklyn. We will give Low a majority of 25,000."
