The sale of the South Boston glass works on Mercer street, South Boston, was recorded on June 22. The purchaser is William C. Pope, who buys for investment. Wharf property in and around Boston is getting scarce, and this is considered one of the few good wharf pieces left. It contains about 230,000 square feet of land, with building, formerly occupied by the South Boston glass works. The price paid is said to be about $50,000. The assessed valuation is about $15,000.
