Wirt's Porcelain Cleat. A new cleat for stringing electric wires that has been invented and is being put on the market by H. C. Wirt, 620 Atlantic Ave., Boston, is shown in the accompanying illustration. The cleat is made of porcelain, and as will be seen from the cut, is easily fastened in position. The method of stringing the wires is plainly indicated. It is
only necessary to have these cleats attached to the wall at intervals of about three feet and the wire is easily fastened by winding around a section of the cleat at each end designed for the purpose as shown. The cleat is so made as to hold the wires about an inch away from the wall, thus avoiding any blackening of the wall. |
