STILL ANOTHER! FACTORIES BEING LOCATED ALMOST EVERY DAY. Gill Bros. Glass Pot and Furnace Factory of Bellaire, Ohio Secured to Muncie. Through the Citizen's Enterprise Company another important manufacturing concern has been located in Muncie. This last acquisition to the city's industrial interests is Gill Brothers Glass Pot and Furnace Block factory of Bellaire, O. The contract was closed yesterday evening and the site selected is just south of Ball Bros. flint glass house on Ohmer avenue, east of the belt railroad on what is designated on the map as outlot No. 2. The building will be a brick structure 250 X 80 feet and will cover 20,000 feet of floor space. Work will be begun on the buildings at once and the plant will be completed with all possible haste. The company will manufacture pots for glass factories, furnace blocks and all kinds of materials for ovens, furnaces, etc. Nearly all of the products of the factory are made from clay imported from Germany. This will be the only industry of the kind in the gas belt, and from the fact that there are seven large glass factories in successful operation in Muncie, the local business of the new factory will be an important feature. It is an old established concern and has been in successful operation for a number of years. The reason for removing to Muncie is the superior advantages offered in the way of gas and local business, by the metropolis of the gas belt. It can safely be said that another important industry will be located in a few days. An agreement has been reached and it is expected that all the papers will be signed up in a few days. |
