Glass House Notes.

The following Muncie notes are taken from the National Glass Budget, Pittsburg:

The Nelson Glass company are now in good running order. They are turning out ware just the same as if they had been in the business for 20 years.

Maring, Hart & Co., who operate a window house in this city, are also the owners of a green glass works at Dunkirk, Ind.

The Port Glass Company have started the grinding department in their fruit jar house.

Peter Manard, the genial foreman of Ball Bros. glass works, is laid up at his home with sickness, the first for a long time. His presence is greatly missed around the works.

Johnnie, the 11-year-old son of Thomas Prest of Avondale, who is employed at the Muncie Glass Works, Wednesday fell on a large piece of glass and badly cut his left hand.

One of Muncie's best known and very popular glass workers is Mr. William A. Vandergrift, for a long time employed at the Maring, Hart window factory in Boycetown. Mr. Vandergrift will very soon retire from business, and with his family will go to New York on a short visit and then to Los Angeles, Calif., where they will reside, he going in the drug business with his brother.

Mr. Charles Kelly, while at work at the Muncie Glass Works, slipped and fell on the ground. He fell very heavily and struck his side on the sharp edge of a block of wood, fracturing one of his ribs. He was removed to his home on Berlin street, and Dr. Martin was called and rendered the necessary medical aid.

The Hemingray Glass Company of Muncie, Ind., are making a lot of specialties such as telegraph insulators and other electrical appliances. The factory, as well as the others of the Magic city, have a plentiful supply of natural gas.
