This place is preparing to celebrate its centennial June 16, it being one of the oldest Eastern Ohio towns. Its enterprise has been hampered by want of first class railroad facilities, no leading through line entering it. The Wabash, however, will now soon give it a better position. Its tin mills and sewer pipe factories were its chief industries till last year, when the Thomas China Co. built a fine plant there. They are making an excellent quality of semi-porcelain and have developed a good trade and acquired an excellent reputation for durable, well-finished, artistically decorated dinner and toilet ware, with some attractive specialties. They report running full, with present orders sufficient to care for their output.
