To the business Men and Citizens of Muncie:

We, the undersigned, view with alarm the rapid diminution of our natural gas supply and recognition that increase railroad facilities are Muncie's greatest need. Roads to the coal fields are absolutely necessary if Muncie shall retain its factories. The proposed Cincinnati, Richmond & Muncie railroad will, through its southern connections, lead to the coal fields of Ohio and West Virginia. We earnestly recommend that the appropriation asked by that railroad be voted to it on Thursday, May 10th.
