Announcement is made that the California Glass Insulator Company, now located at Long Beach, will move to Torrance. Negotiations which have been going forward for some time have just been completed by the purchase of a site by the Glass Company, whose plans are said to call for a modern factory structure 100 x 300 feet. It is not stated whether the Long Beach plant will be continued or abandoned. At present the company employs about 75 workmen, but at Torrance it is stated, the force may be increased to 800.

In addition to manufacturing glass insulators, the company also will make glass preserving jars.

The plants now at Torrance include the Union Tool Works, Pacific Metal Products Company, Holder Lumber Company, Southern California Lime and Cement Company, Torrance Pearl Manufacturing Company, The F. L. Moore Truck Company, the Fuller Shoe Company, the Llewellyn Iron Works, Pacific Electric car building shops, Acme Brass Company and National Mosaic Tile Company have arranged for sites. Erection of the Llewellyn building will begin in December and the Pacific Electric car shops, it is announced, next spring.
