Drawn Into a Pulley.
John Doyle, aged 46, an employee of the Diamond Glass Company, was caught in shafting in the company's works yesterday, and received such injuries as necessitated the amputation of his left leg below the knee. His right leg was also badly crushed. Doyle, who is a glass packer, had been employed during the last few days painting and making repairs about the building. He was engaged in this work when in some manner his feet were caught in the pulley driving the big wheel. He was drawn up, and his legs frightfully crushed. The injured man was taken to the Emergency Hospital, where Dr. Bruce L. Riordan amputated the left leg. Doyle is a married man, and lives at 1,208 King street west.
