Porcelain Company at Work

The United States Electric Porcelain Co., of Findlay, O., the purchasers of the Superior Porcelain plant in New Cumberland, W. Va., has commenced the manufacture of clay in the concern and the initial preparations were made for a general resumption of operations.

The action followed immediately upon the handing down of a decision in the common pleas court of Findlay, in reference to the injunction secured by the Findlay Board of Trade against the United States Electric Porcelain Co. to restrain the removal of the Findlay plant to New Cumberland.

On the decision the common pleas court says that the board of trade of Findlay had no right to enjoin the United States Electric Porcelain Co., but that the company must either return the $2,600 bonus advanced by the Findlay board of trade or leave their equipment in the city of Findlay until the case was tried on its merits. The officials of the United States Porcelain Co. decided to permit their equipment to remain in Findlay temporarily until some decision is reached by them.

In the meantime it was decided to begin the preparations for operations in New Cumberland. The plant will be placed in operation immediately about 50 men being put to work, while an additional 50 will be given employment after the plant has been running a few weeks.
