Now Control Both Plants.

Through a series of sales and subsequent purchases the United States Porcelain Co., composed for the most part of East Liverpool capitalists, has secured control of plants at Findlay, O., and New Cumberland, W. Va., which combined aggregate 14 kilns, making the company the largest electric porcelain manufacturers in the western United States district.

The control of both plants was obtained by a clever coup. Several weeks ago the United States Porcelain Co. announced its purchase of the old pottery at New Cumberland and the purpose of converting it into a porcelain plant. At the same time word was sent forth that the Findlay plant was to be removed.

Immediately on the receipts of this information the Findlay board of trade entered the court seeking an injunction to restrain the porcelain company from removing its plant. Their petition was denied, the courts deciding that the company reserved the right to dispose of its plant whenever it desired.

Consequently the Findlay plant was put up for sale and bid in by a certain capitalist. Subsequently the American Porcelain people reconsidered the two plants, one at Findlay and the second plant from its new owner. As a result it now has the two plants, one at Findlay and the second at New Cumberland, W. Va. The former plant consists of eight kilns and the latter six, making 14 in all.
