A regular meeting of the City Council of Covington, Ky., was held in Council Chambers Thursday evening, Nov. 13, 1884. President Coffin in the chair and all the members present except Messrs. Prague, McCourt, O'Brien, Tarvin, and Collopy.

Minutes of the last meeting read and approved.

Same presented the report of Messrs. Joseph Haviln, J. R. Cooper, and J. H. Benter, Special Commissioners appointed to appraise the value of lots to be benefited by the opening of Washington street from Third street to the river, as follows:

Same presented the following ordinance which was passed:

An ordinance granting landholders assessed for the opening and extension of Washington street from the north line of Third street to low water mark on the Ohio River, time of file exceptions to the report of the freeholders appointed by Council to appraise the lands benefited by the opening and extension of said street.

SEC. 1. Be it ordained by the City Council of Covington, Kentucky, that the landholders named in the report made to this Council by the freeholders appointed by Council to fix and determine the amounts to be assessed upon each lot or parcel, according to benefits for the opening and extension of Washington street from the north line of Third street to low water mark in the Ohio River, shall have until the hour of 12 o'clock Thursday, November 20, 1884, in which to file exceptions to the report made to this Council by the said three freeholders; and to enable said land holders to file exceptions the said report will remain in the office of the said City Clerk for the inspection of said landholders until the time above named.

SEC. 2. The City Clerk will cause this ordinance to be published once in the Covington Daily Commonwealth.

SEC. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
