The pottery at Medalta will be a stoneware type

Inquiries concerning the proposed pottery to be erected at Medicine Hat, Alberta, have elicited the information that it will be for the manufacture of stoneware and not for whiteware as originally reported.

Clay found in that immediate section lends itself readily to the manufacture of stoneware and the demand for that commodity among the new farmers of the Great Northwest is such as to insure the success of an enterprise of this kind. It is understood that the machinery for the plant has been purchased in the East Liverpool district and will be forwarded as soon as the contract can be completed.

The Medicine Hat plant will be a five kiln pottery, modern in every respect, and the fuel will be gas which the city controls and which is sold to manufacturers at five cents per thousand cubic feet. In order to stimulte manufacturing industries the city has decided to allow concerns with a given payroll to use all the gas they may need in process of manufacturing their wares without cost for a period of five years.
