A despatch from Sandwich, Mass., Dec. 18, says: Since the old Boston & Sandwich glass works were purchased, a few weeks ago, by George B. Jones, of the firm of Abram French & Co., Boston, negotiations have been going on continually favorable to the resumption of business here at no distant day. Mr. Jones was present at a meeting of citizens in the town hall last evening, and spoke of what the new company proposed to do. He was of the opinion that the Sandwich people would be more interested in its future by subscribing a small sum to the capital stock. Those present individually subscribed $2,800. The people are very confident that the business of glass making will be resumed before many weeks.
