MR. AMOS SHINKLE.

Seriously, if not Dangerously

Injured by a Fall.

Amos Shinkle, Esq., was seriously if not dangerously injured by a fall sustained by him this morning. He had climbed upon a high brick fence in the rear of his new conservatory now in process of erection on the alley behind his residence, and missing his footing fell heavily to the ground, a distance of about seven feet. The workmen employed on the building found him in a semi-unconscious state, and carried him into the house. His son Bradford and Drs. C. F. and C. H. Thomas were immediately sent for, and are at present in attendance upon him. About 12 o'clock a COMMONWEALTH reporter called at Mr. Shinkle's residence, and was informed by Dr. Thomas that his patient has sustained quite a severe concussion of the spine. No limbs or bones were broken, but the injury was a severe one, and the result is as yet uncertain. Mr. Shinkle, however, is recovering from the shock caused by the injury, and should no new and adverse symptom manifest itself he will probably recover in a short time.

At 12:30 Dr. Thomas reports Mr. Shinkle as resting easier.
