FRY FOR CONGRESS

Henry C. Fry, president of the H. C. Fry Glass Co., Rochester, Pa., has listened to the pleading of his friends, it has been learned, and will be a candidate for the Republican congressional nomination in the Twenty-fourth congressional district, providing that Henry W. Temple, the well known educator and writer, and former member of congress, does not enter the fight for the nomination.

The primary election will be held Sep. 1.

PLANT IS OUT OF SUPPLIES

A temporary shutdown at the H. C. Fry Rochester plant is rumored for next week.

A shortage of supplies and glassmaking material, caused by the interruption of imports through the European war, is said to be the reason.

The shutdown, if it materializes, will doubtless be for a short time only.
