MILLVILLE, N. J. PLANTS ARE BACK TO REGULAR STRIDES. Another factory of the T. C. Wheaton Glass Co., Millville, N. J., went into full blast last week, the start being made necessary by many large orders. With this plant glowing the company will be having one of the best runs in its history, with the brightest prospects for a long successful season. The Glasstown plant of the Whitall Tatum Co. is also having a successful run thus far. The Millville Bottle works, as usual, is pressed to utmost capacity with plenty of orders ahead. The plant has been running since Sept. 2, and there is no likelihood of a stop for months to come. Both manufacturers and workmen are enjoying almost unpredented [sic] unprecedented prosperity, and Millville is today supplying glassware to a number of foreign countries. Some ware, which a few years was scarcely known to be made in any but foreign countries, is today made in as fine grades in some of the local plants. Beakers and other high grades of chemical ware, which were exported from Europe to the United States, will have little market here in future years, as the craft has gotten this ware to a nicety during the past few seasons. |
