ROWE IS ELECTED

BY GLASSWORKERS

Question of Amalgamation Will

Be Decided at Monday

Meeting.

There will be another day or two of the glassworker's convention in this city. The flint glass men were unable to finish their business yesterday, and they continue over until Monday.

Their annual election resulted in the choice of the following National officers for the coming year: President, T. W. Rowe, of Pittsburgh; Vice-President, Wm. J. Croke, of Marion, Ind.; Secretary, John L. Dobbins, of Pittsburgh; Assistant Secretary, W. P. Clark, of Muncie, Ind.

The threatened opposition to President Rowe did not develop, and his election was unanimous.

J. J. Dunn and Peter Bunn were added to the committee which is considering the question of amalgamation the National unions of the flint workers and the green bottle blowers.

The convention of the glass bottle blowers at its morning session approved the recommendations and suggestions of President Hayes and the other National officers. The delegates were the guests of the Lagoon during the afternoon, and today they will go to Woodsdale Island, to enjoy the hospitality of the Hibernian Society.

It is expected the flint men will adjourn their convention Monday night, and that the bottle blowers will finish Tuesday. The remaining interest centers in the question of amalgamation of the two bodies. Some decision on this will be reached Monday.

President Rowe and the Conference Committee of the flint workers are to go to Star Island, Mich., Monday to meet the committee of the manufacturers for the purpose of arranging the wage scales for the next year. Notice has been served on the manufacturers that the men will ask increases in pay ranging from 4 to 15 per cent of the wages they are now receiving.
