LESLIE TOOMEY.
Victor, July 24. - Leslie Toomey, 18 years of age, died at 5 P. M. to-day at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Toomey, about one mile southwest of Victor. He had been in failing health for about a year. He was in the employ of the Lock [sic] Locke insulator works, working when his health permitted. Less than two years ago he was badly burned in an accident which occurred at the factory. He was washing his hands in gasoline, which was the custom of those workers in certain departments there, when someone thoughtlessly threw a lighted match after lighting a cigar, and it fell in the basin of gasoline. The burns proved to be quite serious, and he never seemed to regain his usual health. He leaves, besides his parents, one sister, Marie, who is employed as a teacher in Rochester, but is now at home on a vacation; one brother, Henry, also at home. Mr. Toomey was a favorite with his young friends, and will be greatly missed. The funeral services will be held at 10:30 P. M. on Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church here, his pastor, Father Donnally, officiating. Burial at the Catholic cemetery. |
