FATAL ACCIDENT TO A FORMER HONEOYE FALLS RESIDENT

On Sunday morning between 6 and 7 o'clock, a resident of Oaks Corners, Ontario Co., found a man seriously injured and unconscious close beside the Central tracks, a little east of Phelps. The unfortunate man was taken to Gill Bros. undertaking rooms where he was examined by Dr. Howe. The man's left arm was literally crushed from wrist to shoulder and he was suffering from several scalp wounds. Coroner Archer of Clifton Springs, was summoned and with Drs. Howe, Mudge and Connolly the injured arm was amputated at the shoulder. About 2 o'clock the man recovered consciousness sufficiently to give his name as Harry B. Locke, that he was 35 years old, and that his mother resided in Buffalo. He said he was walking on the track and was struck by a freight train during the night. Every attention was shown him, but he did not survive the shock and his death occurred about 4 o'clock. He was an old railroad man and had recently lost his position in the Leigh Valley yards at Manchester. His mother and brother, Fred Locke of Victor, who were summoned, arrived Sunday evening and arranged for the funeral which was held in Palmyra.
