FACTORIES TO CLOSE FOR THANKSGIVING DAY Nearly All the Local Industries Idle Today, Affording Holiday For Workmen. Many of the leading industries of Muncie are closed for Thanksgiving. Ball Brothers' factories will be closed until Friday morning, the information being given out that the night men who report for duty at midnight will not have to go to work tonight. The Pioneer Pole and Shaft plant, as well as the Kitselman, the Hemingray, and the Broderick & Quinlan factories are closed in order to give the workingmen a holiday. The stores in general closed early, while banks, barber shops, and other up-town places of business will remain closed during the entire day. The holiday rules at the post office are to be in effect, one delivery being made in the business portion of the city during the morning. The bills of fare, extending from the leading hotels and cafes to the drinking emporiums, where free lunch is a drawing card, includes turkey and its trimmings. Hundreds of family parties are being given. |
