Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Gouch entertained last evening in the Dutch Club of the neighborhood. The members are: Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bradley, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hemingray, Mr. and Mrs. William Perkins, Mr. and Mrs. James Daniels, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Grant. The evening was spent enjoying Dutch games and a Dutch lunch was served. The table was arranged to illustrate the title of the club. In the center were two huge pretzels, and in the rings were pickles and olives. At the head of the table was a beautiful deft china platter which had passed the century mark twice and 50 years over, an old family heirloom that is much treasured by Mrs. Gouch. The souvenirs were large schooners with handles, with a pretzel tied with orange satin ribbon to the handle. The schooners with handles are of ancient date, and could not be found in any of the large queensware establishments in Cincinnati. In an old German store over the Rhine they were found in a box covered with dust, and had been stored away for years as unsalable. As the chimes from the old German clock rang the midnight hour, the maker, who had been asleep for over 200 years, reminded the guests that they must hie to sleep.
