As the holiday season nears, the festivities are crowding in on the social calendar, which will be well filled, and the smart set will not have to seek out-of-town functions to be in whirl of gaieties, as was the case last year. Those events of interest scheduled are as follows:

Jan 9 — Miss Hawkins' Whist tournament.

Mrs. F. M. Whittaker, of Mt. Auburn, will entertain next Wednesday at her home, in compliment to Miss Elizabeth Dickson, of White Sulphur, W. Va.

Mrs. Frank Cross entertained the Afternoon Card Club beautifully at her home, on Walnut Hills, Saturday.
