CORRESPONDENCE.

Hoosiers in Far-Off Australia.

Sydney, Waterloo, N. S. W., Australia, March 11. — Have just been reading a bit of the news from the various places in the Glassworker, and I decided to send in a line now and again.

All the boys are doing fine here, and as there is no shortage of material and lots of orders on hand thinks look rosy for the future.

At present there are five Lynch machines seven Rau, three Teeple machines and one Miller machine here in Sydney.

This company has plants in Melbourne, Adelaide, and is erecting a machine plant in Brisbaine.

The boys on the Lynch are doing a bit of sprinting. All the Lynch and Rau machines are making quart beers, and 30 to 34 gross is done often in eight hours.

To look around the tank at the faces you would easy think you were in Indiana from the number of Hoosier boys you see.

Among the workers are Ed Lane, Claude Bagley, Earl Shores, Mart Henderson, Buck Bartholymue, Jeff Morris, Tug Riley, Harry Holding, Billy Coons, Jack Ford, Red Ford, Bob Thompson, Ben Koons, Dan and Jim Glasgow, Peggy Wilmur, Carl Michael, Tony Newcomer, Lawrence Black, John Presley, Arthur Taylor, Al Dewel and Q. Lewellan.

Jeff Morris enlisted. The cat is a good sport and we hate to see him go, but he has all our best wishes.

Peggy Wilmur says with a little luck he expects to become a bookie on the race course, but so many of the sure things either jump the fence or run the wrong way that Peggy's book will turn out to be a punty.

Art Taylor is going to start a one-horse carnival as soon as he gets familiar with the Australian cash, which will be a long time, as he thinks he can pick a winner till the race is over.

All the boys play the ponies, have lots of fun and don't lose anything but their money.

Ben Koons and Lawrence Black are on the job as works foremen.

Walter Ford is looking after the flowing device.

Between Bagley and Lane we have some good old Yankee arguments.

Mart Henderson is some boy, according to the ladies. He is thinking of leaving the trade and becoming a butcher. He has a shop in view. I think from all reports he is buying a half interest in it.

Any one wishing to write to any of us can reach us by this address: Australian Glass Co., Dowling Street, Waterloo, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Trusting this finds the trade conditions improved and the G. B. B. A. giving a good account of itself, and with all up on Uncle Sam, I am Yours for Success — Yank.
