GENERAL GLASS NOTES.

S. Oakman, of the Oakman Mfg. Co., of Boston, will begin operations for the manufacture of blown and pressed glass at Cheshire. The brick works plant will be utilized for the purpose. The company organized with the following officers: President, Wingate P. Sargent, of Boston; secretary, James R. Powers, of Boston; treasurer, William Baldwin, of Pittsfield; superintendent, Samuel Oakman of South Boston. About fifty hands will be employed at first and eventually the company will employ 100 hands.
